November 2, 2007, Newsletter Issue #33: Rolling Duffel Bags

Tip of the Week

eBags Tip: Rolling duffel bags offer the convenience of a rolling suitcase combined with the packing space and flexibility of a duffel bag. They're popular among students and people traveling with sports equipment -- indeed, any traveler for whom a professional appearance is not top priority.

Large duffel bags offer seemingly endless promise -- a week's worth of clothes, a few novels, room for souvenirs. Bear in mind, though, that many airlines will charge you extra if any single piece of checked luggage weighs more than 50 pounds. Unless you're planning to cram that 40-inch behemoth duffel bag full of popcorn, it may be better to try two smaller bags.
